New Beginnings |
Team Charity is a new official 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We've begun the Team Charity Ambassador Scholarship Program to further our mission. This program is aimed at college seniors or young professionals up to age 39. They will become "Team Charity Ambassadors," spreading the word to their fellow graduating class or surrounding community. We will help them with whatever volunteer or fundraising events they wish to undertake.
Each ambassador will then submit a report of all activities they have been involved with and a proposal for the scholarship. The proposal must describe the activity the money will be used for, such as a service trip or capital project. The board will decide based on performance and proposal who will get the scholarship each year. Which ever person we believe will be the most philanthropic young professional and keep the cycle growing, will be the recipient. |
Our Vision |
Generations of young professionals elevating their involvement in volunteerism and philanthropy by supporting the following casuses: health, children, seniors, animals, environment and financially fragile populations. We will support our visions by: |
| 1. Promoting volunteer events of other non-profit organizations. |
2. Providing accessible opportunities to financially support other
non profit organizations. |
| 3. Creating programming that will mentor young proffessional generations to embrace a philanthropic lifestyle. |

The Event That started it all... |
| MDA Stride & Ride |
Every idea has to be hatched from somewhere, and when co-founder Nicole Fulmino was pondering ways to raise money for the MDA Stride and Ride, she thought up Team Charity with co-founder Maria Cruz. Unfortunately, it takes a while to start an organization, and the Stride and Ride was too soon to be included in our efforts for MDA. Fortunately, it was a major success!
Nicole and her team members, pictured right, raised almost $6000 - which is more than half of the total $10,000 the entire event made!!! They won the highest fundraisers plaque and were on the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon! |
Nicole is so grateful to "Team Ruby Slipper" for their amazing efforts! Having been afflicted with a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Charcot Marie Tooth, she is especially thankful for their support. Her teammates, however, were awaiting more than her thanks. They were awaiting for Nicole to make good on a bet. She promised if they raised $5000, she would get a tattoo of a Ruby Slipper!
Nicole was a woman of her word. On Sept. 18th, Nicole got officially "inked" by Miami Ink's talented artist, Darren Brass. Though she has a tough face on below - she admits she was very nervous! "And yes... it does hurt."
Nicole is thrilled to have had the experience and feels the ruby slippers and yellow brick road represent a journey in her life that started because of having Muscular Dystrophy. It led her to her career in non-profits and eventually, to the beginning of Team Charity! |
